Bible
Workbench is published by The
Educational Center in St. Louis,
Missouri, a cooperative network of individuals and groups
throughout the continental U.S. and abroad that supports four
services: Bible Workbench, Centerquest, Centerpoint,
and Teen
Text.

Bible Workbench focuses on one of the appointed
scriptures appointed to be read during Sunday worship in churches
using the Revised Common Lectionary, Episcopal and Roman Catholic
lectionaries as well as several Sundays from “An Uncommon
Lectionary” of early church non-canonical texts. Reading
between the lines, the biblical stories are explored with questions,
scholarly and historical background, as well as parallel readings
in contemporary news events and literature.

TeenText, similar to Bible Workbench, provides
a lectionary-based process that helps high school youth (9th-12th
grades) connect the text on the page with events in their daily
lives. Through discussions guided by a series of open-ended, text-related
questions, they begin to see the Bible as a vital, dynamic, relevant
resource - one that can inform them throughout their lives. Also
available is KidText,
using the Contemporary English Version text, for use with middle
school youth.Learn

Centerquest provides training that helps teachers
identify what the student or the class is wrestling with. By using
story in literature, film, myth and sacred writing, the program
explores issues, and offers Skills Training, Workshops, and Support
Material for religious, secular, and adult classes. (K—adult)

Centerpoint offers
a series of self-guided courses that explore the concepts of C.G.
Jung and the patterns of the archetypal world. The courses are
offered on cassette tapes with accompanying transcripts.
